ARC #5 This is a larger version of ARC #1, inspired by industrial structures. I was pleased enough with the original color combination that I repeated it here. The nature of my glazes is such that there is always variation so no two pieces are the same.
The kanthol wire is inserted prior to firing and finished with industrial paint. All of the clay components are slab-constructed terracotta, finished in low-fire oxidation. Each piece is fired at least twice. The unique surfaces are generated by means of layering: of multiple glazes or glazes applied over liquid clay slips. Other materials are noted where used. All dimensions are height x width x depth.
